2017 Southeast Scouting Workshop

Unread postby jwilkstn » Thu Dec 29, 2016 8:04 am

Dan's scouting workshops have been big hits in the past, with numerous members commenting that it was well worth their time and cost to attend. With post-season scouting coming up very soon, I want to gauge the level of interest from those members across the southeast and put one together within a day's drive for the majority of us.

Timeframe would be sometime between February 11 and March 12 based on (my knowledge of) various state's season dates (if that is within someone's open deer or turkey season, speak up). This would ultimately be determined by Dan's busy schedule.

Location(s) I have in mind is middle Tennessee or northern Alabama. Last year some plans were made for the Bankhead National Forest in Alabama, and that seems to be a good location. I know of several diverse properties near where I live in southern middle Tennessee also. It seems the specific location would depend in large part on where the majority of interest is willing to drive to. Please speak up with your thoughts regarding this.

At this point, we need to see if enough guys are interested, so be sure to respond if so.

I'm interested in this. Also, if there was interest in having the workshop in North Mississippi, I know of a few places where we could make it happen.

Hey Jason,
I would definitely be interested in Dan coming down to middle Tennessee if he'd be willing to.

I'm interested, probably more toward the TN side of things since I don't venture down to the AL area much. I hunt the middle to upper part of TN so the rut isn't quite as late as some of those areas.

A little interest so far, it's a start.

What type of terrain are y'all hunting, or should I ask what kinds of terrain are you interested in learning more about?

I'm interested. Scheduling is going to be a major deciding factor. Looking at a 10 hr drive to get there from Orlando.

Maybe another FL beast or two wants to go?

Pls keep me in the loop.

Will do.

That would be great if another guy down there wanted to go to split the drive!

Interested, especially if it ends up being at Bankhead.

Looks like it's about 50/50 so far between Tennessee and Alabama. That's not very helpful in narrowing it down

Hopefully several more guys will see this thread that are interested.
