Bedding Areas, fresh sign

Unread postby eboll » Thu Nov 03, 2016 3:42 am

I'm in SE michigan, hunting a bigger piece of public land (for our area). My first few sits were busts. I've been scouting in the middle of the day, hunting newly found areas at night. I found a clear cut that looks to be 5 or 6 years old. There is a ton of sign here. I'm wondering where to set up. There aren't any terrain features to relate to. I was just thinking the downwind side would be my best bet. Do bucks typically walk with the wind when they leave their bed in the afternoon?

The consensus I've read seems to be that they will head to food/water/does upon leaving their bed regardless of wind direction.
