At what point or how light would wind half to blow to make the thermal pull take over?

I am curious about this as well. I saw it happen last weekend with a 2mph wind.

From what I have seen any wind, even extremely light wind will trump a thermal. It needs to be pretty much calm in order for the thermals to work.

Looks like you guys were talking about hill thermals, different that I was speaking about.

I feel thermals no mater if it's windy or clam...windy days the tunnel is alot lower in elevaluation. ..clam days the tunnel is up higher...if u get a cold night and a warm following day...thermals will over power wind any day of the week..

Say if its 60 in the day and 35 at night with a 10mph wind during the day? Thermals still king?

It was 33 Saturday morning rising to low 70s, so around 9 am thermals were suddenly really strong.

I am curious, if I've got an 8mph wind in the morning, how the rising thermal comes into place. Does my scent just swirl in that tunnel?

Ideally you are high enough so that your scent is sucked up in to the wind and carried far away. the milk weed will tell you everything.

I am poor lol and only have 3 sticks. I added an extender on, but this means maybe 18 feet max. Probably more like 15. Does this mean I should hunt. Below that thermal tunnel instead?
