I did some scouting today

Just for fun a quiz for y'all.

Which is the buck bed?

I found a lot of beds right out in the open hardwoods. They were also feeding there. The deer were digging for acorns and dead leaves.

They were also eating off of downed tree limbs. It could be tough to hunt if they are going to comtinue to bed there. They can see you coming for at least 200 yds. The snow was very deep but I took off my snowshoes and just trudged along. The powdery snow made snowshoes useless.

I did the same thing today and uncovered alot of the same results! The cold and deep snow definitely has them feeding like crazy! I found over a dozen beds in the open hardwoods in a brushy low spot near a field edge and less than 100yards from a recent clear cut with lots of good, young growth. I also found 3 beds in a stand of young white pines. One was massive with two small ones. Huge doe and fawns? Or buck and does? do they bed together this time of year? Where abouts are you hunting/scouting magic?

I was in the Babcock area today. My guess would be doe and fawns.

I would say he is walking towards the bottom of the screen and the 1st bed is a buck bed from the size of it.

going to the top of the pic.

Bottom bed buck? The other 2 pics look like other beds close by...guessing doe and fawn for those.

Deer is walking toward the top of the computer screen you can tell by how the snow is splattered that way. The second to last pic is the bed.

Ok Magic whch is the buck bed? You got me stumped.

To me it looks like the deer are feeding right in the beds....don't usually see them right down to the bare ground.

Since you like to track so much and I don't see any of your tracks I will say the deer is headed to the top of the screen.

Great deduction but I wasn't tracking it. I just came across it. I took the picture in that direction because it was the best lighting.

Here's the answers:
I'll let solocam answer the first one because I can't say it any better.

Deer is walking toward the top of the computer screen you can tell by how the snow is splattered that way.

The second answer is the last picture. You can see the tarsal gland staining in the snow. The others could be bucks but because the snow is all gone so you can't see if there is any staining.
one way to check would be to climb in there and stick your nose to the ground and smell. If it's a fresh bed (within a day) you will smell the tasal glands.

Thanks for playing!
