Found my first hill country buck bed!

Unread postby perchsoup » Thu Aug 04, 2016 2:31 pm

Got out to a public piece I frequently hunt, for an hour tonight. Went to the newer clear cut and found plenty of tracks. Pre beast I would have looked for trees down wind of all the tracks to set up in. Well, I looked at the steep hill on the south side of the clear cut and went to the top. I walked the ridge down the leeward side and wouldn't you know, three buck beds a third the way down. The middle bed was the most worn, must be the best location. I never would have scouted this hill for beds a month ago. Whoop, whoop!

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

It's an awesome feeling when you find a BIG worn buck bed. I wish I experienced it more often
