Scouting Hunting Sign /small game/big game /waterfowl

Unread postby Bubbles » Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:25 pm

Aside from the obvious like finding treestands, bait piles, bright eyes, etc how do you guys predict other hunters activities? I think in a large part I'm referring to some small game hunters running dogs or waterfowlers etc. I don't do any waterfowling or running dogs for rabbits, so I'm not familiar with some hunting techniques which would make it easy to avoid them. How deep should I expect some dogs to pentetrate a brushy barrier? How far from the waters edge should I expect duck hunters to set up?

Duck hunters dont seem to stick around very long at smaller pot holes. Once the ducks r on to em they wont stop at that hole anymore. Usually they setup right on the edge of shore where they have cover.

Beaglers dont usually run till later in the season so they r not a big issue. However if they r hunting they will get into every thick spot they can.

Bird dogs usually cover ground quick n come n go not messing things up to bad.

If you know they r there position where u can use there wind and noise to your advantage.
