If using Google Earth, look into a GPS app like GPS Kit that allows you to make a track and save waypoints as .kmz files. I do this. GPS Kit allows you to save photos as waypoints. When I get done in the field I just e-mail the track with the photos to myself, save it down, open it in Google earth and it pops right in. The photos show as pins that you can click to view. This is my third scouting season doing it this way and it has been great for really stepping back and putting the big picture together from scouting and hunting trips. I create a track for all of my scouting and hunts. My biggest issue is forgetting to stop the track and having it track my whole drive home!
