I did not know of the buck at all. I went in blind on Halloween and missed (twig deflected my arrow) a nice buck. Not as nice as this one. I thought the buck I missed was making all of the rubs in the area but I may have been wrong. To be honest I did not scout this area very much in 2015. I just started following Beast style early fall 2015 so this is my first year concentrating on post season scouting.

I will post a pic of his teeth tomorrow. It's hard to believe but he might only be a 2.5 year old. There is very little wear on his teeth. I'm curious what others on here would think of his age.

Unreal to think he's 2.5, I'd say 3.5 but 2.5? Really?

Here is a picture of his teeth. I'm still on the fence between 2.5 and 3.5. Leaning more towards 3.5 after looking closer but I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Dentine almost as wide as enamel on 4th tooth
Third cusp on last molar still pointed vs being dished out (concave) on 3.5 year old.

I'm hunting a river valley (public land) running through farm land. Sparsely wooded draws/ravines running up valley sides. Agricultural land on top. This is in ND. Little tree cover other than farm yards and draws/ravines.

It does look like 2.5 tooth wear. Some good genetics. Did'nt they say the Milo Hanson buck was only 3.5? Thought I read that ...

Doesn't have a lot of tooth wear, but food sources in that area help determine how much wear and tear. It's a good buck for either age IMO.

I don't know what that deer was eating but I can't imagine that deer being 2.5. Just my two cents.
