Scouting Today

Unread postby Slider1005 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 12:34 pm

I went out scouting today and this is what I found. I cut a track walking the transition line, not a huge buck 3-3.5 fingers wide.

I followed the track a long ways. It walked right by this old rub about 20 yards from the bed I found. His tracks went right to the bed.

This bed was all alone with thick cover behind it and looking out it was catails as far as you could see. Tough to sneak up on this guy. Now this last picture looks like it could be a buck bed not sure though. It's way back in the marsh. Some doe tracks went by it about ten yards away. It on a high spot with nothing more than catails around it, but close to an island woods. Looks like a few rubs in it. I think it looks promising. What do you guys think?

Yea Dan third pic is a bed all alone followed the tracks right to it. The last pic I found the bed just walking checking areas. It's also all alone. The base of tree on the right looks like it's pretty ripped up. It's hard to see in the pic but the small tree on the left looks to have an old rub too. Doesn't look like the bed has been used recently, but it's back in there. I would assume they are bedding closer to the food at this time??

Great job on the scouting mission, Slider. Hard to say if he's closer to the food without seeing the area. Keep up the scouting, and finding/patterning/setting up as many good bucks as you can. 8-)
