I live in northwesterm PA and we just recently got cold weather and snow. My problem is most of the food source is on the private land that borders the public areas i hunt. I get nervous about others steeling my one and only camera. I guess thats just a risk you take. Should i try and maybe find freqently used trails from bedding areas to the source?

Try to find some big tracks and set it up on that trail if there is one. Main trails are good but you'll get a lot of does. IMO big mature bucks don't always follow the main trails.

Getting a pic of a survivor in the winter is great. In my experience it was hard to find that buck on the same piece of land next fall. I think in season pics are money. Even summer pics the bucks can shift to there fall range could be a mile or 5

With only one camera I'd move it every couple of weeks. Bounce around a littl . If you get a picture of a nice one try to follow his tracks back to his bed.

Hang them high angled down. 8-10-12 feet usually works well.
Here is a DIY mount.
