I am new to the site and beast style hunting. I hunt private land and in the past have mostly stuck to field edges. I have done decent in the past but want to try new methods. I have researched the site a ton but wanting opinions on a few tracts of land. I didn't scout much this spring because it was before I started researching the site. Here is the first place. The waypoint is a small food plot that is planted every year. Thanks.

The first place I'd look is that point near the road you're overlooking.

Ok thanks. It's really close to a pretty big road. I'll check it out.

It's Trimble GPS. I haven't messed with others much but seems pretty good to me.

Re: New beast member looking for opinions
I marked the likely bedding areas in red. There use will likely be determined by pressure and cover, but I would expect bucks bedding in most of these areas. I marked likely hunting spots in purple. But, outside of the rut I would try to find trails coming from suspected bedding heading for food and set up on them. The key to this might be not to do it when the wind is ideal because bucks bed on leeward points and benches and if the wind ain't blowing that way there not bedded there. So for bucks heading up towards that food plot for example, you would still want a wind blowing towards the point, but a just off one that don't get your scent to him.

Re: New beast member looking for opinions
Ok thanks a bunch. Looks good. The deer population isn't very high and there isn't any crop fields around. So there isn't a consistent food source except that food plot. A lot of persimmons and oak trees though.
Just to double check to make sure I am understanding topos, would these spots look about right for this next spot. This land is extremely thick and holds a bunch of bucks but not as many does for some reason. I have never killed a buck on this land but I have seen some real good ones. It is a close to two miles away from the other land. I have mostly seen the Bucks around the waypoint and have hunted around there some. I don't know how to hunt the steep holler effectively. Thanks again

Those spots would work on a south wind.

Re: New beast member looking for opinions
Ok gotcha. What about east or west winds. Do dear typically move around to keep the wind at their back but stay on the same ridge? What about the holler. Do deer typically bed up high?
