Curious what the best mapping websites you guys have found? Where you can change layers topo-aerial/ see both at same time. Draw, etc. etc.... What's the best you've found.. Free and paid for..

You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

I have used mn. Topo on my laptop, but I stepped on and broke that. I have been using a couple of free apps on my phone now. Trimble GPS hunt is great for scouting I can mark points of interest and it will take me right there. Good detail of maps as well, and its free.

I'm probably behind times but find goog earth and usgs topo overlay works great. Can use slider to change opacity, can manipulate the view lots of different ways with goog earth as well.

These were listed in the thread I posted a link to above. There are some map examples in that thread too. Use the search feature on the beast and you should find other threads on mapping sources.

google earth and Bing maps

I like gmap4.. I use snipping tool n save n print my maps. I then use hi-lite markers to color code beds, marshes, water, saddles, ect... I put em in a clear sleave n have them in a 3 ring binder for scouting on foot. When I scout I keep any notes on the back of printed map.

I just downloaded Trimble and was curious how to mark points without actually being at the location? Any tips would be appreciated. I'm sure I'm overlooking something I just can't figure it out.
Thanks!

The hillmap.com is really nice. I checked it out last night and it will be used a lot.

For Trimble just hold your finger on the spot, and it will tell you what to do next.

I also use Trimble. It's easy to switch between topo and aerial, has weather, compass, moon phase, and ballistics. Pretty nice for free. Scoutlook is also good for marking stands and seeing wind direction for present and future.
