I'm curious if you guys have noticed this as well, but..
I noticed while scouting a few WMA swamps that the bucks (and does) seemed to prefer bedding around certain shrubs. These shrubs, I wish I knew the exact name, were dense enough that you could not see in but the deer could see out. They also had overhead cover and were only 5ft to 20ft in diameter which varied from plant to plant. Almost every single time I came across this plant in a swamp I could guarantee to find a rub, bed or defined staging area. I've never noticed a trend like this in a farmland or hilly setting, so far.
So what says you? Have you guys noticed bucks or deer in general opting for a specific type of foliage to bed around?

Re: Foliage and Bedding Preferences
I've seen a ton of beds under autumn olive and mature multi Flora rose. Rose grows like crazy around here on the transitions. Autumn olive is more on hillsides.
