It would be interesting, this is public property, DNR owned, not sure how the farming rights work but guessing it will be corn most years if not every year, I was corn last season also.

It's been pretty quiet, a few deer passing through but no bedding, getting a fair amount of these worthless critters.

Not sure if the camera is spooking them or the coyote activity in the bedding area, I'll give it more time.

I had a stretch of about a week of coyote pics during all hours of the day, I haven't gotten a deer pic since. Next week is Wisconsins opener, I plan to hunt it during the week then pull the camera if nothing changes. The area has 2 bedding areas about 300 yards apart, will attempt to hunt the second bedding area the next evening.

From the tree I can see the entire east side of the swamp where they'd exit, if the camera is the reason for the lack of use not the coyotes I should see anything bedded off the bed the camera is on. It will be more of an observation sit, if something exits there is another spot I can setup on. I've hunted near cameras in the past and encountered bucks I've never gotten pics of.

I agree. I've seen many bucks that just didn't walk by the cam. In my opinion cams will tell you YES hunt the spot, but no pics shouldn't always mean NO don't hunt the area. It is a big confidence builder getting pics though.

Thinking back to this I thought I should update. Camera never picked up so I pulled the camera 2nd week of season after tagging out in WI on a different bed. When I pulled the camera there were a lot of things working against me. First not being able to get the camera high and out of sight was a mistake, even if trimming was needed I think it would have been better results. Next the coyotes on camera were an unpleasant surprise but it's part of the game. The biggest problem I feel that led to the poor results was road construction. When I pulled the camera I was greeted with fresh blacktop, about a 100 yard stretch between the swamps was tore up, new colvert installed, and resurfaced. With the bed not that far off the road I'm sure this was a huge negative. I'm going to check out the bed this spring and see if anything moved in later in fall. I'll try again this summer doing this. Below is a map of the area for reference to show the road.
