Milkweed in Urban SE Wisconsin

Unread postby justin84 » Fri May 22, 2015 5:44 am

I thought this was interesting; happens every summer here. A good reminder why you shouldn't take too much. I work and live in Wauwatosa, WI. I see alot of milkweed (now that I know what it is) in the neighborhood.

This is why I only pick 2-3 pods a year and then after separating I dump the seeds back in the area I picked them for future growth.

I know I'll look at those milkweed spots a little harder now. Maybe I'll find one of Dan's secret spots.

Funny story.......one day I was in my stand on a fairly windy day and a bunch of milkweed came flying past me. Saw it coming across an open area of cattails. Thinking I was downwind of another Beast hunter. From the amount flying in the air I suspect it was BigHunt!
