Found this one on a tiny patch of high ground, which was a deer bed. Is this a Gardner snake? Its a big one if it is.

The thing I don't like about them is the surprise factor, not seeing them until it's nearly too late. Never forget reeling in a 5 lb bass and watching a water moccasin crawl across my tennis shoes....that was a major exercise in self control in more ways than 1!
