I'm going to scout some new public land here in a couple of weeks.it has only been available to the public for one season now and I believe it was Bowhunting only. I know that this property has big bucks there because a buddy of mine used to hunt it when it was private land. I know where to look for beds and sign according to the wind but if you were going to scout it for the first time, how would you approach it to gather the maximum amount of information for this fall.

Man, the wind direction changes alot around here. I'm going to try to have multiple stand locations for different wind direction because of this. I live in the Northwest corner of Arkansas so we get alot from the north and west but also alot moving up from the south and east. For instance right now the wind is out of the west, by 4 o'clock it switches to WNW, and then by 5 o'clock it says WSW. Then back and forth between NW, WNW, and west over night and the SW tomorrow morning and then NW for tomorrow afternoon.and to add to the change, it goes to NE and E after that!
