Backyard Big 8

Unread postby TNHUNTING » Fri Feb 06, 2015 8:51 am

Since Dec 23rd I have gotten some trail cam pics and seen a nice 8pt. I live in the city on top of a ridge and there is a decent section of woods between me and the houses at the bottom. The last time I seen the buck was Feb 2nd and he was in my yard during daylight hours where I am throwing corn out. What are the chances that he is bedding close to my house? I'm wanting to scout the woods here soon, but is there any mistakes that I need to take in consideration when trying to find his bedding area? I know I don't want to give him a reason to move off elsewhere.

If he showed up in daylight then I would say he is certainly bedding near your house. The only way your going to know for sure where he is, is to go look for him. If the season is over there's no reason to be concerned about jumping him. He may or may not come back for a while but he more than likely will be back in the area next hunting season if he makes it through the winter.
