I am wondering if there is a specific name for these topo features that I have marked in yellow. There are more in this map, but I think you will get the general point of the question.
I may have heard or made up calling them "protected" points or inside points.
There are a few of these on the place I hunt where a smaller point is shorter than adjacent points.
Any thoughts on these? Can someone give me some better terminology to help searching for more information?
It seems like the majority of these that I have found are heavily traveled by deer and most have rubs on them.
Thanks for the help,
What would you call these topo features?

Those look like spurs, or in Beast terminology, bedding points. Looking at the map you have, it looks like some of those spurs are not very well defined and might have little effect on how the deer travel and bed through there. I would check out the points that really stick out. But if you are finding sign there, adjust accordingly.

I havent really noticed these to hold beds on them. It seems more like they are travel routes where deer move from tops to bottoms. These specific spots that I have marked have larger points coming down next to them. It is almost like these points drop into a secondary bottom while the adjacent longer/larger points empty into the main bottoms.

We call those spurs, and they do often hold buck beds.

Only a portion of these are what I would call spurs or secondary points off a main ridge. Many I would just consider the contour of the draw or saddle. The true spurs have enough relief where they act as a secondary point. Somewhat subjective but very obvious when you walk it.

Those areas might be drawing scent from more area and so the deer want to use it. Or the up and down movement is easier with a gentle slope.
