Question about Predator cams ?

Unread postby dreaming bucks » Fri Sep 17, 2010 4:53 am

My buddy got this great pic of a Bobcat with his new Predator trail cam.... what I'm wondering is, why is it pinkish color ? All the daytime photo's have this pink tint to it... Is that normal for the Predator cams ? He did not know why it did that.... Anybody ???

I don't have any of this years models but past years were not pink like that at all.....don't know if they have any settings to change?

First models out (no longer offered) had a slight green tint as the pictures progressed in rapid fire. When picture looked at individualy slightly noticable, but when viewed in motion you could pick up the green tint. The green tint was not as distinguished as your pink tho......Sorry don't know why it's pink?

I'm holding back comments until shipment back of cameras in for repair. (2) from last October and (4) they have had for three weeks now.......

The two taking longer than usual was with good explanation and two lesser model loaners were sent out. Appreciated the loaners and made it thru the season.....I guess they had vendor trouble getting parts for last years cameras. Cameras never stopped working but had drastic reduced battery life issues for some reason, but was a known issue with Predator as I was informed; with some "batches".

Still happy they are standing behind their product w/o reciepts and no charges. (so far) Not in panic mode yet. One of the first models I have (only one left) is still working fine going on it's 4th season.

I have not had that issue with my predator. My predator works great it just seems to make a slight noise when it activates to take a photo.

I asked my buddy if he had his camera on multi shot, and he said yes, I believe he said it takes 3 pics, one every 10 sec... Well, this is the only pic he had of the Bobcat.. I'm just wondering if the cat heard the camera click and that's why he didn't get anymore pics of him ? I don't know, just thought it was weird that it has the pink tint to the daytime photo's... The night ones are just fine...

Mine were/are completely silent expect the twice a day switch from color to BW. This is programable to what time you prefer and some ?lense? slides for a second and makes a slight click.

I would call or email Perry and find out what his take is on the problem... Pic's should not be pink tinted.

IR cameras use a different lens for night pictures and day pictures. The lens is probably stuck in night time mode.

Just having some fun, hopefully I didn't offend any of our lady friends on the site.

That's great stuff guy's....My Predators were purchased a couple of months ago, nothing of that nature. Would be contacting/sending it back for repair though.
