Never been one to do a lot of summer glassing of my hunting areas. But last week after finishing some stand prep in ohio we drove around the area. We saw 2 groups of bucks. Four in each group within 1/2 mile of our hunting land. One of them was 20" inside on June 16. Can I assume this deer will be knee popper come October? Being from michigan we don't grow em like that. Will the antler continue to grow out? Do they grow out then begin to grow times. Does the antler develop the same in all deer or is it genetic and vary? Just wondering what the potential of this buck is. Any guesses? Sorry no picture. Going back in July maybe I'll get lucky and get a pic.

Re: Trophy potential
Pretty much impossible to say but if you see them packing on the inches early it s a good sign they will reach their genetic potential. With that said some grow early and slow down, some pack on the inches late, some are limited by nutrition and age and others by genetics.
