Farm land help

Unread postby ohmyrod » Sat Apr 19, 2014 2:33 pm

I have permission to hunt this farm land in Sullivan WI, Most of it is crop but there is a chunk of woods I found a trail of last years buck rubs (marked in red) leading to the thick stuff I dont have permission to hunt. That is where I assume there bedding. Just want to see how you guys would hunt this.

I would somewhat disregard the rubline cause its mostly night sign. The exception would be rut when I might be inclined to do a hunt where the rubline leaves the property trying to catch cruisers. My scouting focus on finding beds would likely be along the edges of the property which seem to have the right ingredients. I would focus on the finger on the East side, and the ditch/treeline on the west side.

That is a parallel trail.

I was thinkin where the red line is would be a decent set for the rut. If I put a stand up I could see the finger jutting out on the east side. Would that be a good spot for a observation stand?

Also my fiance would like to start bow hunting, so if we were not targeting big bucks just deer in general where would you think a good spot would be for a ground blind?

Thanks guys !
