Upcoming Scout - Where?

Unread postby DaHunter » Fri Mar 28, 2014 2:46 pm

Any advice on potential beds/rut cruising spots to key in on? The hub in the middle? I've yet to check this area out, but I think this might have potential. There are some Ag fields to the west across the road, and I would expect most of the pressure to be on that side.

Red dots mark the best looking bedding locations... The blue dot is a south wind rut spot, the yellow dot is a north wind rut spot...

Dan,
Just wondering why the yellow and blue dots are rut spots? What stands out to you? Thanks!!!

Because bucks would cruise along the wind tunnel during rut and the spots picked looked to be the tightest and / or best to funnel the scent stream away. I marked the map showing cruise lines and wind direction.

Did you overlook the draws near the saddle because you feel they are too far from the best bedding?
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.
Everybody's selling dreams. I'm too cheap to buy one.

On the right wind the ones on the south side might work, but on the north side I think some of the bucks may drop thru the draw and cut the distance and where I marked would more likely have the majority come within range.
