You shouldn't have opened them. Nature provides a nice little case to keep them all packed away. Now that they're open, the fluff is gonna go everywhere. I dry mine in the pod without opening it. I put a couple of pods in a pocket or small bag when I go hunting. When I get set up, I open a pod up.

Plus, now that they are open, they risk scent contamination. Where are they drying? In a house?

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Ya, I took them out and put them in a brown paper bag to dry to the end.... then I'm going to put them in one of those squeezable coin purses....

Just pick all the seeds off and put the floaties in a tupperware until you're ready to hunt, don't worry about scent contamination your going to be touching them when you release them anyways unless you hunt in latex gloves........

Ok I went a little over the top and picked about 30 pods this year. At first I tried to dry them out in the pods and it was taking too long. My best advice it to pick the pods and open them up right away, strip the seeds off (toss them out neer by so you have your own little milkweed patch for years to come) then I broke up the fluff so it dries out a little fast and put everything into a small paper bag. I probably have enought to last me a few years but I think I might give out a few gift bags to some fellow hunters.

Their blooming ALL OVER the place as of this morning! Couldn't believe it on my drive to work this morning... They were in every CRP field I passed.
