Scouting is like being a kid on Christmas.

Going scouting this morning, planned on being out at first light. Set my alarm for 5:30.

Woke up at 3:30am, can't sleep, mind racing, super excited...sitting here drinking coffee waiting to go.

All of my buddies are probably just rolling in from their Friday night bar fun!!!

For me scouting is a continuation of the hunting season only I don't carry a weapon. I really enjoy exploring new areas and trying to figure them out. Every scouting trip is a new adventure. Pretty cool when you apply what you learned to the following season and it all comes together. 8-)

I don't agree. Except for my saviors birthday,, I like scouting more. Actually, ya might find this strange but I like scouting more than the hunting a lot ,more. Kicks cabin fever, spring is almost here. And one time, I was over a mile down an old logging road. I sat down on a big down fall in the sun. Listening to the wood pecker in the spring. I fell asleep. I don't know how long I was asleep. Deer hunting is a bit stressful.

Got that right. It is exciting to get out and see the possibilities.

Very productive day in our opinion. We scouted some ridges and there was tree stands on the ridges near the points...

This seems to have forced the deers into bedding in a low lying area below the ridges...it is super super thick where these deer are bedded, honestly I have no clue how these deer move in this area with a rack on there head, but the sign and beds are there to prove it!!!!

Now just have to put together a plan to hunt it.
