That looks like a huge area; how many miles across to you think it is?

If it's as big as it looks I would consider isolating smaller chunks and have multiple days of scouting 2,3 or 4.

i don't know, but you're right, it is a big area. some of it might be posted for all i know, but i have hunted the western area of that map. i was playing around and saw the terrain to the east so i zoomed out a bit. looks like some potentially good features over there.

Broke it into 2 sections; ± 2 sq. mi.

West side of your original map

i've hunted (and actually killed a couple good bucks) on the eastern side map, in the southwestern area on that map. it's a pretty steep ridge. but it was dumb luck, one got pushed right to me by another hunter and the other one just happened to wander by. i do know where some does used to bed over there, but have no idea where any buck beds are.

the western side map, i've never hunted that area but i do see one saddle on there. might be a good area?

I'll take a stab @ the question as this is only 50-miles away...

It is funny though; it's New England and wind comes from everywhere...

SW is the predominant wind direction

I would look in the marked spots for buck bedding and set up accordingly.

thanks dan! yeah usually westerly winds, sw, w, nw typically. once november comes, i'll usually have a west or nw wind. i'm assuming that would make them reposition to the opposite sides?
