This is a piece of federal land Im looking at that Im going to scout when winter bow closes at the end of the month. Im hoping the pressure isnt to heavy because most guys wont hunt it because they cant use bait. Where are some likely beding spots and places for stands during the rut I should key in on and why? I know I should look for creek crossings and check for points with a little bit of elevation. What do you guys look for on topos that would likely be trails or funnels areas from looking at the map?The fields to the NW is a sod farm.

I like to hunt points that lead down into the marsh but hunt it on the marsh and timber transition line. It doesn't have to be an elevation point either it could be a bunch of timber that shoots out into the marsh. Remember Transition lines. I'm not a huge marsh hunter but do hunt it on occasion in public land. Many marsh experts here.

I would walk the area I marked in red... Look for beds on the thick side of the transition.
