what are the odds of this buck...

has anyone ever had a buck that broke off his antler during velvet? i got a picture of a buck i know very well with sheds and previous trail camera pics but this is the first year his one side is just a stub..you think he just hurt it or broke it off some how during the velvet growing stage??

From those pics it doesn't look broken but looks natural and stunted. Maybe he has an injury to his left side that happened since last hunting season.

Yeah it looks like it just grew that way. That would be a cool shed to find tho

check all trail pics and see if he has any scares or damage on his left side, somethings had to of happened for his one side to grow so weakly.

Yeah something caused it to grow that way. I read once that testicular injury was related to bucks growing double main beams and occasionally drop tines. Next spring I am going to find a perch at a food source and practice a little big buck management with a BB Gun..hehehehehehehehe.
