Some great input here.
One thing I would also consider is human access. If certain portions are more difficult to reach because or barriers like water or swamps, i would consider that area as a prime spot to find a mature buck hiding. Use a canoe or kayak to navigate up that river to access the hard to reach areas.

Stanley, this might be a dumb question but how do turkey scratchings help? also ever since ive hunted this spot the marsh grass has always been tall.

Great question. Not all trees have acorns every year. Turkeys tend to go to the best acorns first. Finding where the turkeys are feeding on acorns can give you a heads up on what is under the trees in an area. Find the best acorns you'll find the best deer. If your grass is always tall that gives more cover for the bucks to bed/hide in. Makes life a lot tougher that is for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

As was suggested to me before, when you post a map take out the Lat - Long so other not so nice people do not go hunting areas you are working.
Good luck out there!
Also, if you post a picture taken with a GPS capable camera or smart phone, make sure to rip out of the geotag. I just keep mine off when taking pictures with my phone.
