Anybody been scouting hill country, southern WI ?

Unread postby dreaming bucks » Tue Apr 16, 2013 5:53 am

I have not been out yet. With all the rain we have had in the last few weeks, I thought it might be pretty hard to get around yet in the woods. Wondering if it's still greasy yet ? I'm going to try this Saturday, but they are calling for heavy rains again Wednesday, so who knows if I will be able to.

I was going to last week, but like you said
weather has held me off.
I'm going to the scouting work shop this weekend.
The fields are probably pretty greasy yet.
I hate to wait much longer.

Get out and scout. I was running up and down hills all weekend in SW Wisconsin and it wasn't too bad. Was turkey hunting, but it is hard to turn off the deer scouting when you are in a good area.

The weatherman is calling for 2-3" of rain from wed-Fri.... that's not good. I really would like to use my 4 wheeler, but it might get too greasy for that if we get that much rain. Stupid rain!

Was out April 5th for a few hours. It was a little muddy, but also majority of the soil was still frozen. Will be out after the coming monsoon to turkey hunt and then scout. Probably this weekend or early next week. With turkey hunting, scouting, prepping ground for my first food plot and moving stands I might have to take 2-3 days to get it all done!

Can't wait to get out there and hit the hills!

Mike
