Shedding yet?

Unread postby Milk Weed Seed » Thu Jan 03, 2013 4:28 pm

Got some trail cam pics of shed bucks this week, just dinks. Buddy had one drop his horns when he went to drag it the other day. Anyone else seeing shed bucks yet. Season doesn't end till mid Feb here, so I won't be walking around much till then.

Not yet.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I got a proablly 140" 8 point that dropped his horns right around xmas, He broke his leg about a week before gun deer season and up until I sat xmas night I never seen that buck again, i assume he shed the horns do to the injury, I have since had that buck come in twice to the food plot, Looks to be in good shape but has shed his horns. Other than that Im still seeing bucks the last couple nights with both sides on

If you have private wait... otherwise I think they are easier to find now with deeper snow = obvious travel, bedding, and food sources

I saw a nice shed buck last week. There are always a few that shed around this time. I'll start looking in a couple weeks.

Was shinning this week and all bucks still had horns here in Waukesha county. The bucks were sized from a 170 class to some smaller baskets but all horns in tact.

A couple of the guys I talked to in Illinois said the have found a few sheds within the last week and seen a few bucks in other areas with half racks. I'm waiting for a while yet here in MN before I consider going out I've been working with my lab pup on finding sheds he can find ones I hide blind in the yard and at the park in taller grass or in the timber but we will see how he does with the real deal....I got faith.
