My snowstorm scouting trip

Unread postby tutone84 » Mon Dec 10, 2012 4:55 pm

I have been hitting a new public marsh pretty hard the last couple of weeks looking for bucks, I think I found one, although who knows, he could be dead. I really don't know what I'm doing since I haven't hunted to many buck beds but what the hey, I'm going all out in 2013 to make it a personal goal to get on a big one. Here's what I have so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqrmAMtGqlk&feature=youtu.be

Cool video.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Good job. That video will be a nice beginning to the harvest video when you shoot him

Looks like a good start for next year. How in the world would one spot check that area to determine if there is another buck using it next year?
Maybe follow the trails out to look for big tracks?

I don't know as of yet, I think my best bet is to put a camera with a trophy rock out in early fall off a small ridge out there about 300 yards away and see what comes in. I found so many other Buck beds, there hard for me to decipher, I don't hunt buck beds too much, next year I'm going all out just to see if I can do it. I had such a terrible year this year, I will not let that happen again!
