Early Season Scouting

You have narrowed down a few areas based on maps and/or trail cameras. Once you get boots on the ground, what type of sign do you look for and how much weight do you give it?

Early season sign can often be pretty subtle. Having a good idea on bedding areas, and trusting your gut feelings seems to work well for me, along with being able to see the subtle sign.

That being said Dan............ Is the best time right when your hunting season is over with ?
