Re: Choosing where to hunt for deer?
Its real tough on most days deciding what piece of public or MFL to hunt. Usually, I pay a lot more attention to areas with good cover and food, but this year, no areas I hunt have any crops. I been hunting places with good doe bed areas this season and been having good encounters. There are a few areas I found during spring scouting that should be awesome rut funnels this season. So, when the rut kicks off, I will be set up in those spots. I also do a lot of cyber scouting to find key terrain to set up in. That has worked ok for me in the past.

Re: Choosing where to hunt for deer?
depends on rain and company...
I can't get back to a few favorite spots unless there is a few inches of water in the stream..Last year couldn't get back there.
A couple private parcels I really like to hunt pre rut/rut but neighbors and/or other guests like to keep a close eye out for my spots.
