Fun weekend scout

Unread postby blackwolf » Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:53 am

Drove around a few areas of Bayfield Cty this weekend and found deer to look great! Lots of yearlings with does and nothing looking "shabby" as they usually do after winter. Quantity looked good too with deer everywhere. Less wolf sign than I expected. I heard rumor the winter may have been "hard" on them. Spot checked a couple spots and verified one good stand site for this fall's rut. Also did a little target practice with my S&W .357 Mag with red dot scope. Had 2 shots within a one inch bull after about half hour sighting in with gun rested on log on ground. I am ready for a wolf tag!

I heard that the winter was hard on the wolf population state wide this year!

Yes, I hunt all public in Bayfield Cty. There is plenty with county, state, and National Forest.
