Scary moment.....I jumped at least a foot.

The local state park has had quite a few cougar sightings in the past few months. Driving around it you used to see alot of deer, lately not so many. :?

Anyway I hike alot in the park, away from the hiking trails. I just walk the woods.
I usually wear my walkman and get in a looking for stuff zone....

The other day I had a yellow lab sneak up on me from behind and brush against my leg....

Saw the yellow out of the corner of my eye  and jumped a foot...

He was a friendly dog and after we said hello he just ran off back the way he came.

Guess I need to stop groovin when I walk....especially with the timber rattelers coming out of hibernation.

I hate when that happens.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Just last week a young teen.... I think they said he was 11, was walking to school wearing those ear buds listening to his music. Crossed the railroad tracks and was killed by an on coming train.

He never heard the train.

I always get spooked by pheasants. They always wait until you are right on top of them and you sure as heck are not looking for them. They really get me when you in the middle of a marsh and BOOM there he goes and there I go dang near on my but haha.
