some pics from a scouting trip around the 1st of feb.

a nice looking edge I found to follow, but I'm saving it for another trip
Image
some rubs I found in a staging area near a field, mixed with winter beds

Image
a lone bed in some brush next to a field
Image
rub in the lone bed
Image
a big rub I found on a island of spruce(i believe) surrounded by dogwood
Image
another view. there was a stand all trimmed out for a climber nearby
Image
heavy trail leading back to suspected bedding
Image

Image
staging area found on the island, numerous beds close by
Image
small rub next to a bed on the other side of the island

Cool pics RBW, looks like a lot of stuff I hunt, especially the bedding. No its not a good bedding spot here or there it's like an entire ocean of potential bedding locations. I think our bucks are spoiled.

You guys are giving me the itch to get out, I've been too busy lately but doing a little extra work now should clear my schedule a bit for the spring scouting season.

Was that tree fused together?

Did you know, double trees, with a common base come from stump sprouts.

yeah its some nasty stuff! Ive hunted it many times and it usually gets the best of me. Some nice bucks around too, but I'm going to start focusing my efforts on areas that are easier to predict movement. Lots of other options up here
