2-3-12 Scouting Trip a SUCCESS!

Unread postby Czabs » Sat Feb 04, 2012 8:18 am

Went out on a scouting/shed hunt this morning before work. The lack of snow definitely helps me. This marsh they were def wintering in though. Walked about 5 miles in 5 hrs. I didn't find any sheds though. Here is some of my findings...

Image
This big boy is going to be in trouble come fall

Image
bed I found along with others

Image
hair in the bed..

Image
Not only did I find the tips of this stuff eaten off by the beds but it seemed like they were feeding on it everywhere

Image
doe beds...

:L:

Image
example of a solo tree with a bed at the base surrounded by cattails

Image
hair in that bed

Image
another heavily used bed

Image
angry little bugger

Image
I found this on a trail, what do you suppose it is? Looks like worms/guts..yuck

Image
This is a big mature buck bed, tree was 31" in circumference (I love cedars :L: )

Image
biggest track i've ever found by the bed  I literally kinda yelled when I found it

Image
another nice track in the same area...

Looks like a good one!

Great work! :) The harder you work the "luckier" you will become!

Hope you put a big one down next season!

Super job on the findings.

In case you didn't already know, that stuff they are feeding on is red osier dogwood. They feed on it quite a lot.
