Don't know about my new areas involving marsh and Beast style yet. But in the past some took over an hour.

The farm down south. The stand that is the longest walk is about .40 of a mile. Public land is .68 tp 1.40.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

I have been walking a lot less lately. Most of my spots used to be 2-4 miles in according to google earth, and I had success with that. However now I only occasionally walk over a mile. I have found there are plenty of good bucks right under our noses on public.

Found a bed a few weeks ago that's within throwing distance from the parking lot, my longest spot is about 1.5 miles in, takes about a hour to get to on a normal walking speed

Mine are usually over half a mile back but a few of my spots are near the road. My successful kills though have been in areas very thick and deeper then most hunters go.

My shortest is about 1/4 mile but I need to climb up a 300 foot bluff.

My longest is just over 2 miles as traced out on google earth from the public access. That has a few hills too but not a lot. I just can't justify that kind of walk routinely because it takes so much time. There is a big buck that I am slobbering over back there though. I even have tried a slow jog for about the first mile, that cuts the travel time down to maybe 45 minutes but jogging in hunting boots carrying a bunch of gear is not much fun. It has too be cold too or I get too sweat up.

Most of my walks are in the neighborhood of a mile plus or minus with lots of hills. That is not straight line distance from the vehicle, rather the actual route I walk which tends to be looping a bit. Time wise varies greatly, some spots I sneak in and it takes over an hour and others I walk fast to the base of the tree and I cover a mile in 20-25 minutes. I was blessed with long legs :D

We all probably agree that the empty handed walk out is THE LONGEST.

last year on public my shortest walk was just over 1/2 mile and the longest was .89 miles. It was all easy walking and done mainly to leave my car where others would "think" I was hunting and not where I really was. I had one spot that was only 30yds off the road, but walked .75 miles down the road to the nearest parking area to get there. I hate walking roads as it exposes you to lots of people, but I'm not walking through thick crap spooking deer if I don't have to. I'm amazed how many walk miles, that's impressive. Here in Michigan I just don't find spots that aren't squared off by roads every mile.

Here is a cool site to determine how far your walking path is.

I find myself not having to walk far, by picking up the missed areas many hunters overlook I'm able to kill bucks less than .5 miles from the road. Now depending on the wind, that walk could be 250 yards, or 2 miles...
