So seeing what you did and knowing that the bed is there, would you set upon it vs heading deeper? And if so, how would you setup?

Great question... because of high hunting pressure I would hit this bed Day 1, 2 or 3 of the bowhunting opener. Hit it before his bedding pattern changes. The buck will have food on his mind and while the small cut has plenty of forbes and browse there are oak trees nearby... and in early season he will stage toward them. The transition he is bedded on has two directions... one toward the marsh and the other toward some very mature oak trees.

I would set up as close to the bed along this transition toward the oaks as I could. Playing the wind, it will be an excellent observation stand if he stages into the cut instead and I would immediately adjust and hope my intrusion doesn't alter his movements. Again, right at the start of bowhunting season.

I anticipate that he will move to pressure bedding shortly after the opener (the marsh).
