A few weeks ago, I was set up for a morning hunt in a bedding area. Got in well before daylight. Saw nothing until about 8:15. Then this guy sneaks in and beds 5 yards from me. Not a huge buck, but still a cool experience! He layed there until I bumped him out when I got down 1 1/2 hours later. Enjoy

Cool video! I've had that happen right before dark and had to scare them out by breaking branches!

Re: He bedded right under me
I had a doe do that to me one year. Some people came jogging by on the trails behind me and she did not move.
She literally went to sleep for about 3 hrs until the sun got to hot and she moved on. That was a cool experience as well.

Wow, that is pretty awesome. I also imagine it was tempting even though he was small. Glad you made the wise choice.

Re: He bedded right under me
It was textbook buck behavior. He came in and scent checked the bed. Then layed down, back to the wind, facing his back trail & the access to this property. He never got up in the 1 1/2 he was there. His head went down for a few short cat naps though.
The right buck, and he would of been in big trouble.
I did hunt this area again about a week later. I had one come in from behind me almost 180deg from where this guy came in. Got to 15 yards 45 minutes before opening. Never did get an ID on the deer.
