Missouri camping options?

Unread postby Redbeard91 » Wed Sep 04, 2019 5:55 am

Might make the trip down to Missouri for a week this fall if I tag out up here in Wisconsin early enough. Have never hunted down there and looking for lodging options. Plan on camping, was wondering if anyone knows where a nice affordable place to throw up a tent is in northern Missouri. Thanks in advance!

Most allow camping in the parking lots. Should be designated on the maps.

Everything is still flooded, nothing doing unless you bring a houseboat :P

Until I wrote that, it never occurred to me but wow! Lots of Corp of engineer lakes are surrounded by hunting. Renting a houseboat for a few days to hit some remote stuff would be pretty sweet. Glass, cook, all in comfort then slip into some inaccessible cove . Put a few beast on board and watch out. Bring a canoe or kayak for dingy duty too.
You don't have to be the best, just do your best.

Some areas have designated camping spots. Others allow camping in the parking lots. All info is listed on the MDC website.
