I don't think you can have enough spots pre scouted. The more you scout the more you'll learn about deer in general. It often takes me a few years to pin down an area. I also think having more options can save you in that off year, especially if your a time limited hunter.

Example: Since having kids and opening my business I'm a weekend warrior. Sign can change weekend to weekend. Years like this year I'm scrambling to get back onto mature bucks with in season scouting. (Which I'm not good at). The heavy snow has moved two of my best bedding areas by knocking down the security cover. My next best property is being over run by "hunters" on atvs out of no where this year. So my known season lay out now is thrown a loop. With limited time available to hunt I wish I would've been more pro active scouting out other options. It's my own fault and preventable.
