I know Dan and others have talked about water having an influence on thermals, but how much and how far from a slower moving creek will the thermals have an influence? I have a spot where the wind will be blowing almost wrong for me, but could be just right. A creek is to my east, wind is supposed to be S, SSW with a slight turn towards the SSE right around twilight time. I am wondering how much the creek may influence the thermals? I have not paid much attention to this in the past. I am thinking to be about 70yds off the creek, with a tree line between me and the creek. If the creek influences it from that far away, it would probably be a perfect time to hunt this spot.
I will definitely be watching my milk weed on this hunt. thanks for any thoughts.
