Out of state hunting
If you are thinking about checking out a piece of public land in a different state how do you pick which one to go to?

Re: Out of state hunting
I'm new at out of state public land, but location was the first priority second was pressure. I found a bow only, which in and of itself can reduce impact of pressure even if it is there. Next I called the local biologist and asked what I should expect for deer densities and age class. I also asked about parking access, animal recovery option, and local hunter attitude. I've only talked to three OOS biologist, but everyone was super helpful. One even gave me a tip on a spot to go scout that was a bit of a hike, but he had seen good sign with no hunter sign. I checked it out and seen two buck and 7 does that morning hunt.
