If acorns are dropping now, what will be the
Next food source? Then what is typically
After that?

In Michigan they feed on acorns into late winter if they can. Beans , apples or pears, acorns, alfafa or clover, maple leaves, corn, bait piles, winter wheat, browse, crab apples... in that order

If we get a good acorn crop they will last into late winter or early spring. Whites get hit first n reds later. Reds r great to hunt in late season for me especially after a snow fall where I can see where they r digging for em. Uncut corn gets hotter as the season moves on also.

Depends how many acorns...on a good year around here they will eat them all winter.

Don't overlook maple leaves and other soft browse like sumac, blackberry leaves. I think these things gets hit hard along with acorns in mid-late October and is one of the factors in the infamous October lull as witnessed by everyone who sit field edges and see no deer.
