I hunt a section of public that has extensive hiking, biking and horse trails. What I have noticed is the section that gets the most human traffic, joggers with dogs of their leashes, hikers and lots of mountain bikers have doe bedding near by, but very little buck sign. Deeper into the public, where not a lot of humans trek, the bucks tolerate their presences because most of the time people are just blowing through the area. IMO, deer know when they are being hunted. One of my best buck beds is 50 yards off a main trail, 2 miles from the nearest parking lot.
