Buck bed in odd place

Unread postby Tennhunter3 » Sun Jan 18, 2015 4:31 pm

I found this bed on a ridge facing west with several large rubs near it. I'm guessing it is used only on days wind is coming from the East which is rare. It struck me very odd to find a single bed here what are your thoughts?

All the action I saw was in swamp and ridges about 150 yards to west on east facing slopes . I'm very curious why this bed is in a crazy location. At first I thought it was a scrape but it's perfectly circular and was flattened down.
Rubs were within 30 yards of it. Seasons over here but my curiosity remains.

I found a bed sort of like that this year but it was only being used during the rut... It was 60 yds on the southeast side of about 7 scrapes that stayed cleaned out for about 1 week. Since then it hasn't been touched so maye that is what you got here

Possibly this was around the 2nd rut late December timeframe. Did see several young bucks chasing does in the area but not the buck that made those rubs. So rut bedding seems quite possible.
