When I get home from work later I'll do a little MS Paint draw up of the area.

Red dot is my stand
Blue are the deer trails
Also both sides of the trail coming off the top are littered with rocks making it even more constricting.

I'm not sure exactly but that's what I'm here to find out. In all honesty right now I believe the deer bed facing down the mtn (the mtn faces NW) and they use the wind (predominant wind is westward) and eyes to spot danger. Most of the pressure will be from below and not from above due to limited access from the other side. I strongly believe the deer know this and just watch below them. Most of the bucks will bed up high on the steep slope because it gives them a strong advantage. They have cover up there to hide easily and escape quickly. I'm not sold on them using the other side of the mtn and bouncing back and forth but I'm also not ruling it out. What I really need is more time scouting up high.
I've had moderate success imo as I have several good mtn buck on the wall. Some guys will say I've done great. I say I can do better. That's why I'm on this site. I want to learn from other dedicated hunters and better myself and share any knowledge I can. I don't think I have ever looked forward to post season scouting more than I am right now. I have been chasing a buck up there for 3 seasons now and he keeps eluding me. With the grace of God if he survives this firearms season and winter he will be 7 yrs old next year. That's quite the accomplishment for that old boy and quite the challenge for myself. I will listen to any advice I can and use it to get him.

Great story and dandy buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
