mornings or evenings??

Unread postby Lockdown » Mon Oct 27, 2014 6:07 am

For work, luckily I'm by myself this week I can make my own hours as long as I get my 8 hours in. Should I get up early and hunt the mornings when its cooler? Or go in early and hunt the evenings? Temps are suppose to be mid 50's mon and tues then cool off to mid 40s for a high the rest of the week. Just wondering what you guys have found to be more productive for similar temps in late October. I'm thinking its a crap shoot, but part of me feels like the cooler morning temps will be best. Lows in the upper 20's later in the week.

Both..... :D

The public gets a lot less hunting pressure in the mornings.
So for a early rut buck cruising hunt I would pick the am.

Yes... I will add that bucks are ready and willing. They are sticking tight to their core areas but can be had now getting back to bed a little later than normal.. Plus its cooler and deer just seem more relaxed in the morning having not had to deal with hunters for twelve hours or so.

Morning to as long as you can sit. I'd rather hunt first light to noon than noon to dark this time of year.
